Roger Federer is a famous professional tennis star and by the Association of tennis Professionals (ATP) recently in men’s singles tennis he is ranked at world No. 2. He is a popular Swiss celebrity. He is right handed, skilled and talented player.

At early stages in the age of 11, he was top junior tennis player in his country. He turned in pro tennis player in 1998. he became the first Swiss Man who win a Grand Slam Singles title in 2003 with his victory at Wimbledon. 

Early Life:

Roger Federer, a tennis star, was born on August 8, 1981, in Basel, Switzerland. his father Robert Federer was Swiss and mother Lynette Du Rand was South African. Federer’s parents, both were worked in a pharmaceutical company and they met during a business trip of that company.

Federer was interested in sports in early age. At the age of eight, he played soccer and tennis. When his age was 11, he was among the top 3 junior tennis player in Switzerland.

When he was 12 years old, he stopped other games and decided to boost just on tennis and he felt that he is more excellent at this. At age 14, he was fully engaged in the tennis.

In a month he played two or three tournaments and he practiced six hours in a week. In 14 years, he became national junior champion and was selected for training at Swiss national tennis center.

In July 1996, he was a part of international tennis federation Juniors tennis circuit and at the age of 16 he got the first sponsorship.   

Personal Life:

In 2009, Federer married with a former professional tennis player Mirka Vavrinec in 2009. Same year in   July, identical twin girls, Myla and Charlene were born in their home.

On May 6, 2014, there was another twins baby boy set ‘Leo and Lenny’ of this couple. Federer lives in Bottmingen, Switzerland with his family.

Career:

In 1998, Federer won the Wimbledon boys’ singles and doubles titles. He turned into professional tennis player in the same year. In 2001, he won popularity by knocking out reigning singles champion Pete Sampras in the fourth round. In 2003 At Wimbledon.

he was the first Swiss man to win a Grand Slam title when he emerged victorious at Wimbledon. Federer was at world ranking of no.2 in the start of 2004. Same year, he won Australian open, the ATP masters and retained the Wimbledon singles title and US open.

As 2005 came, he was at no.1. and he remained at this ranking till 2008. 

Federer beat a Scotish player at the US open in 2008. In the same year he was lost at both French open and Wimbledon by Rafeal Nadal, also a young star Novak Djokovic beat him.

This year was difficult for his career and he went to no.2 ranking after this. In 2009, Federer came back to his victories. He was won by Robin Soderling in French open and also defeat Andy Roddick.

Success in two major tournaments and U.S open moved him again to no.1 ranking.

In 2012, once again he gave pleasure to his fans when he defeated Andy Murray in Wimbledon singles title. In 2013, Federer was lost by Sergiy Stakhovsky in the single competiton.

At U.S open Federer was again beaten by Spanish Robredo. These loses decreased his popularity. In 2014 men’s singles final at Wimbledon he got the victory by Djokovic.

In 2015, at Australian open he was defeated by Italian Seppi in third round. In February, in Dubai championships, he defeated the Djokovic but in the quest of second French open’s crown he was beaten by his countryman Wawrinka.
